Bachelorette Outfit Ideas

As I planned my bachelorette party in Scottsdale, the hardest part was finding cute and affordable outfits. I wanted a nice white dress that I could go out in, but it wasn’t too nice to get a drink spilled on it… ha! I also really wanted an affordable white swimsuit and a few t-shirts that said “BRIDE”. While I did go a little overboard on packing let’s be real, it’s the final weekend to party and celebrate your friendships before the wedding.

If you want to know more details about my Bachelorette party in Scottsdale Arizona, including where we stayed, what we did and the best restaurants, check out my blog post! read more

How to Plan for a Bachelorette

Everyone has their own idea of fun, so make sure you plan a weekend that the Bride will enjoy. If you’re the Bride, write down a few ideas and let your bridesmaids take the planning from there. I scheduled my bachelorette five months before my wedding, which some might think is early, but I really wanted to enjoy it and be stress-free before all the wedding planning started. read more

Fall Home Decor

Fall home decor

It’s that time of year when the weather finally drops and the leaves start to turn into Fall Foliage. If you live in Texas you’e been patiently waiting for the weather to get below 90 degrees. This weekend was the first time we turned the heat on and decorated for Fall. I like to stick to Fall home decor instead of decorating for Halloween so the decorations will last from September through Thanksgiving.

We went all out with pumpkin candles, new pillows, and cute kitchen towels. It’s my first year owning a house, so I went a little over the top know that I’ll be able to save the decorations for next year. read more

Dog Products: What to Get When You’re Expecting a Puppy

Puppy Flat-coated retriever

Recently, a friend at work decided to adopt a puppy! She asked for recommendations on dog products and I thought I’d share my favorites on the blog. If you’re about to adopt a dog for the first time – CONGRATS! This can be very exciting and a little overwhelming. I never had dogs growing up and then I met Justin, who at the time had Winston. Last year I thought it would be great to get a puppy…. Everyone said puppies are a lot of work and they were right!

It’s been a year with two dogs now and I wanted to share some of our favorite dog products to help anyone that is about to adopt or if you’ve had a dog for a while and you’re looking for recommendations! read more

Affordable Area Rugs

It’s been 6 months since we moved into our new house and we finally got an area rug for the living room! It took months of searching, mainly because we couldn’t find one that we liked at the right price point. Believe me, area rugs can get expensive! It was hard to justify investing in a nice rug that our dogs would then chew on, have accidents on, track mud in the house …. you know all the fun stuff that puppies like to do. So, I went on a hunt for affordable rugs and wanted to share what I found. read more

Our Havenly Experience

Becoming a homeowner earlier this year was a HUGE milestone. We moved in, unpacked the boxes, got our furniture unwrapped….. then took a look around and realized we needed an interior designer!

I’d like to think I have a good eye when it comes to interior design. However, we really needed some help with the living room and I’m so glad we got design ideas from Havenly. Havenly made the whole process SO easy and I loved working with our designer Sarah Jones

You can use my referral link, and get $50 off a Full design package or $20 off a Mini design package . read more

Outfit Inspiration with Francesca’s

The first time I went to Francesca’s I thought it was a small boutique in the mall… little did I know it a pretty big retail store based out of Houston, TX (my hometown!). Each store is set up to feel like a boutique with a great assortment of clothes, shoes, jewelry, purses and even fun gifts. I recently stocked up on quite a few outfits from Francesa’s during their semi-annual sale.

Two Pieces Set

This two-piece set is sure to make you smile with the fun lemon print and pleats. I went out of my comfort zone getting this set and I’m so glad I did! The shorts are high-waisted with buttons in the front and the crop top has a zipper on the side. I like that you can order the top and bottom separately because I ordered different sizes in each (top-small/bottom-medium). read more

Vodka Cocktail with Edible Flowers

edible flowers cocktail

Summer is here and that means long nights with drinks on the patio. It’s fun to try new cocktail recipes and change it up a bit for parties. Today I’m sharing a twist on one of my favorite cocktails. The Deep Eddy’s Red Ruby Vodka with Club soda is my go-to drink for the summer, not to mention the company is based in Austin, TX so it’s great to support local distilleries.

To mix things up a bit, I put edible flowers in the ice cubes. The drink was a hit at my last party. The edible flowers smell great and add a nice flavor to the cocktail. I got the edible flowers from Central Market, the brand is That’s Tasty. If you don’t have a Central Market nearby you can also buy the edible flowers from Etsy. read more
